So I was at the YMCA, sweating on the cross-trainer and watching a Janet Jackson concert on TV (initially, in order to figure out whether it was her or Michael). Janet started singing a tune that had a strangely familiar hook. As I realized where it came from, the song's underlying message became clear: when Janet croons that she's looking for "Someone to Call My Lover," she's not looking for just anyone, but specifically, a Spartan man or youth, preferably naked. (Don't worry, that's not a link any pitcures of naked people.) posted by Grimshizzle

attention grimshaws everywhere--please call your youngest sibling (that's kristen, for those of you who can't remember) and tell her to get with it and post the amazing poetry created on the first annual grimshaw-van orman encyclopedic haiku/limmerick festival. young mrs. van orman has neglected her (self-assigned) responsibility to post the works on the blog. i have tried extensively to encourage her, but i believe she needs an extra kick in the tuckus to get her going.
thank you. posted by michelle
