Not only is "compulsive shopping" now a clinical disorder (rather than just a bad habit), it's actually treatable with medication. (Does that mean we can soon expect a pill to treat, say, nose-pickers -- or rather, persons who suffer from, er, compulsive nasal exploratory disorder?)

There's a nice article in today's Times about Robert Smithson's Spiral Jetty, which has emerged from the Great Salt Lake due to the drought.
